Disability Employment Service

We can assist you if you:

  • Have attended an appointment with a Job Capacity Assessor, and been referred to our service

If you come to see us first and:

  • Have a permanent disability - Sensory, Physical, Psychiatric, Intellectual, Neurological or acquired Brain Injury
  • Are eligible for, or receive the Disability Support Pension

A TPG Employment Consultant will:

  • Arrange the Job Capacity Assessment interview for you
  • Assist with all the documentation you need
  • Attend the interview with you, to ensure the JCA is provided with the right information, and you are referred to the most appropriate service

As a jobseeker with our service we will ensure you:

  • Are involved in all decisions about your program, including the sort of training, assistance and ongoing support you get and the employment you want to find
  • Have access to individual support that suits your needs and abilities
  • Are treated with respect and dignity and to be protected from verbal, physical, sexual or emotional abuse
  • Have an advocate of your choice at all meetings
  • Have information about you kept confidential and in a safe place and only used by this service to help you find employment
  • See any information about yourself that is kept by this service
  • Can make a complaint about the service you receive, and have your complaint listened to and dealt with until you are satisfied
  • Can leave the service when you choose

TPG makes sure that you have working conditions the same as all other workers in the general workforce.
This means that you should work the same hours and get paid the same as other people doing your job.
If you are treated unfairly because you have a disability there is a law you can use to make a complaint.
This law is called the Disability Discrimination Act.
